BRAZIL: A lil disappointment actually…

got really excited cos brazil will be making its first ever appearance on the pitch in the 2006 FIFA World Cup; playing against croatia.
i was all geared up, staying up late, sitting on the couch in front of the tv with pillows and a blanket (no, not for sleep… just making myself comfy). actually, i was already prepared way before the game. before brazil’s 1st appearance, i was already "warmed up" watching south korea vs togo and france vs the swiss. south korea was really fantastic cos togo was definitely an underdog though they did really put up a good fight! hmmm… france - really disappointing. i thought with zidane and his creativity in the game, france was sure to win this one! but it was all nil… henry missed quite many good shots - aiyah! so sad… never mind that was what i told myself. brazil will not disappoint you.
so there i was, wide-eyed at 3am.
the show finally started. going googoo-gaagaa seeing ronaldinho, ronaldo (this guy really put on a lot of weight) and kaka (oh kaka!). yay, so they finally came on pitch and the play begun…
like always, ronaldinho had a way with the ball, twisting and turning and dribbling and the next thing you know, he’s right in front of the opponents’ goalie ready to score a goal or possibly passing the ball swiftly over to kaka or ronaldo, or roberto carlos to score.
my butt was already warming up but there was still no goal scored by brazil. the show went on and on tastelessly, there wasn’t really anything significant about the game… but i still watched cos it’s brazil. and then, all of the sudden (ehem, so dramatic…) kaka scored the 1st goal - a spectacular goal scored at 30 yards from the goal post. that was really breathtaking. and i was expecting more but it didn’t come… brazil still had not yet showed its full force. kinda disappointed really. but it was ok. now, i’m just looking forward to watching brazil’s next game against australia (hey, aussies not to be taken lightly, though underdog, they’ve beaten japan! dun play play kays?).
brazil rocks!
